Blogging Blues

OK, I’ve been a bad blogger. I haven’t been able to keep up with my blog as much as I should. I want to, and I will try to do better. So I’m opening up for suggestions for my blogging friends. How do you find the time? What motivates you to keep up with your blog? I am going to try to get back on a regular feature schedule this week – Tacky Tuesday and a few others.

But thanks for continuing to drop by, even if I haven’t been that interesting lately.

  1. “slobber nockin”…oh yeah. that’d be worth it right there.

My two cents is not to get too down on missing a few weeks here and there. Blogging genius (for most of us) doesn’t necessarily come “on demand” – and for some of us, it never comes at all! lol.

What has helped me in blogging is to seldom take myself seriously, but often take my content seriously. It also helps me (although seminary has forced me to as well) to read a lot. Its amazing how a good book, or quote can open up a can of blog-worthy worms for you.

But in the end brother, (to all us bloggers) we should keep in mind that life is a vapor that appeareth for a little time, then vanisheth away. If we miss out on blogging for a while (or for good), we’ve still got plenty of life to live.

    hope all is well brother.

  2. Maybe you could spice it up by attacking Phil Johnson or one of the Tavern guys. A good slobber nockin’ debate always gets the ball rolling. Ha!

I agree with JD, it’s an overflow of what I’m learning as well as what keeps me up at night – it’s weird that other people are interested in that!

  3. I don’t post on mine as frequently as I’d like to either. I was posting “newsy” personal events, as well as spiritual insights I was gaining from various sources. When I revamped my blog over the summer, I decided to focus primarily on the spiritual aspects. As a result, my posts have more to say, but they are added less frequently.

FYI, I do check in here almost every day! I enjoy friends who make me think. Your posts, even the humorous ones, do that. I even share them with my high school students at Maranatha Christian Academy (my new school!).

  4. For me, to keep up with family. I started the blog because some other family members were blogging, and I knew they’d stop by my blog. The other people who have come along have been icing on my blogging cake – it’s been great to connect with other people whom I otherwise would not meet in this life (but most certainly the next).

  5. What motivates you to keep up with your blog?

For me it is pastoral overflow…

Glad you are going to be back in the swing…I am looking forward to more Tacky Tuesday…
