A Quick Story…

A young man decided that it was time to see the world so he boarded a ship that would sail around the globe in search of adventure. Several weeks into the journey a storm wrecked the ship, and the young man was the only passenger to find safety on a deserted island.

The young man made the best of his situation and remained on the island for the next 30 years.

At the end of the 30 years, a ship passed by and saw the now not so young man’s fire and sent a landing craft to investigate. The man was rescued!

His story of survival was so compelling that the captain of the boat came to see the island before they departed for civilization. The man showed the captain around his island and they came to three buildings just off of the beach.

As they approached the first building, the captain asked, “What is this building?” The man replied, “This is my home that I built and have lived in for the last 30 years.” As they came to the next building, the captain asked, “What is this building?” The man replied, “This is my Church where I come to worship God.” “That’s wonderful,” the captain said as they approached the third building, “but what is this building?” The man looked a little sheepish and then replied, “Oh, that’s the Church I used to go to.”

  1. I dunno. Maybe the Children’s programs were better…

  2. So with which theology in the first church did he find himself in disagreement? Or was it that the second church had a better worship band? 🙂

  3. Oh man, that’s great! LOL. This should be required reading for every small town battling baptist…
